TOPIC: CTET (LEVEL 1 & LEVEL 2) – IMPORTANT INFO TO FOCUS ON

CTET i.e. Central Teacher Eligibility Test takes place in two levels i.e. Level 1 and Level 2. CTET Level 1 is for those candidates who are willing to apply for PRT post i.e. for class 1st to 5th and CTET Level 2 is for those candidates who are willing to apply for TGT post i.e. for classes 6th to 8th. A candidate who is appearing/completed any diploma in education can apply for CTET Level 1 and a candidate who is appearing/ completed B.Ed. after graduation can apply for both CTET Level 1 & Level 2. It is an online exam which consists of 150 MCQs to be solved in 2 hours 30 minutes. The question paper of CTET Level 1 is divided into 5 sections of 30 marks each. The 5 sections are: Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language 1 and Language 2. CTET Level 2 question paper comprises of 4 sections: Child Development and Pedagogy (30 marks), Mathematics & Science or Social Studies (60 marks), Language 1 (30 marks) and Language 2 (30 marks). There is no negative marking. So, candidate should try to attempt all questions to score good in the exam.

Candidates who have completed B.Sc. are supposed to choose Mathematics & Science and Candidates who have completed B.A. or their graduation in any commerce subject are supposed to choose Social Studies.


A certificate is issued to the candidates who cleared the exam. Earlier this certificate was sent by post but now it is provided on DigiLocker App, candidate need to download it from that app.
